Love these treats for our GSD puppy. I say puppy, though she is 15 months old now, but still very much a puppy. She has a sensitive stomach and many treats will give her loose stools. I know that feeding pumpkin is recommended for loose stools, so I figured these would not cause any problems, and they haven't. I especially like how they are made from organic pumpkin. They are a little larger than I thought they would be. As you can see from the picture, they are about the size of the top digit of my index finger. They are hard, dry and crunchy and as you can see from the picture, they have a little crack in them. For training purposes when I use a lot of treats, I take a razor blade knife and push it in the crack and cut these into smaller pieces making them go farther. Our "puppy" is doing well with these treats and I will be buying more!
Luci Dog (German shepherd) loves these treats. They are about the size of a grape and very crunchy. They would be too hard/large for a tiny dog or dog with poor teeth, but great for medium to large dogs. I don't think you could cut them in half as they are too hard. I keep these in a jar by the door as a motivator for her to come back inside. The are the perfect sized, one bit treat and I don't have to worry about over feeding her. Love the ingredient list and that they are made in the USA.
My 65 pound pit (American Staffordshire Terrier) freakin' loves these things. They are fairly hard and she gets a good "crunch" when she eats them. Another plus, these things smell fantastic............almost like ginger snaps. I'm seriously tempted to give them a try myself! :-)
My dogs don't like "crunchy" treats nor do they like treats that do not have an animal meat in them, but both my dogs LOVE these !! My youngest was instructed to add pumpkin to his diet to help with his bowel movements. Getting a fussy dog to eat pumpkin is no easy treat, but these have become just that, a "treat" for both of us. I feel good knowing they are NON-GMO and ORGANIC and they are at a very reasonable price.
